This film is just stuffed by outrageous mudslinging on “the American way of life” (teaching at schools that Islam is a most aggressive religion or India style anti muslim pogroms to name few) which may be happily swallowed in Hindustan or Muslim countries. But Mr. Karan Johar claims for a world scene! In my opinion it would be good if Americans declare the KJ and SRK duo as “personas-non-grata” as busybodies pouring water on the mill of “Al-Kaeda” propaganda! And to ask rather seriously: “With whom you are the masters of Bollywood”!
Catchy phrase “My name is Khan, and I’m not a terrorist” may be good for a T-shirt but it is driven in this film to somewhat absolutely idiotic extremes! Even the image of “semiidiot” hero does not come to rescue !
SRK and Kajol’s acts are average. I am especially disappointed with Kajol. She has demonstrated nothing new that would be expected after such a long break. Her act in wailing scene is just pathetic.
In general the film also is quite pathetic too (take just out-of-30s movies’ “Negro” village) and is rather harmful – such an opus in fact sow the seeds of more interracial and inter religion dissociation than all the Ku-klus-klans and Al-kaedas put together, because of misinformation they proliferate !!!
The only thing that SRK, Karan & Co.(especially SRK as actual producer and the ideologist of this film) succeeded at is the film’s PR. After viewing this flick, the motives and customers of the scandal with participation of fundamentalist-chauvinistic party Shiva Sena in actually creating hype for this film becomes rather obvious. Just think, why should SRK just prior to première of the film should have made his statement while promoting his upcoming film, which caused Shiv Sena Fuhrer’s “wrath”, who “took offence” on behalf of all Indian people and demanded apologies from SRK for his statement ? SS threatened to attack all shows of the film. Such worthless film does require such a shameless public hype indeed. Most interesting, no SS actions worth mentioning were undertaken after the release of the flick, when box office was sweeped by viewers and the film has paid off for the first 2-3 days with interest!
